Any idea why Weber in their Summit series, S 670 Grill, stopped using the better stainless steel 300 series (non magnetic high nickel content), and ship now with 400 series steel (magnetic, less corrosion resisitent). I was really surprised myself...is there any good reason...other than the obvious? Doesn't seem consistent with the "last a lifetime" rep.

James

thats a pity. They last for ages if you keep them in good order. You can even make your own cover really cheaply. But I guess it is best to get the ones from the manufacturers.

Not only does the type of charcoal make a difference. Any wood chips you may add for smoking can as well... Apple is personally one of my favorite.
