Smoker Grills – Tips to Choose the Best One
Smoker grills are ideal for cooking different meats. Some people prefer slow cooking smokers to spread the dry heat through moderate temperature around the food, so that the food gets cooked gradually.
Charcoal grills are equipped with a front hinged door, chrome plated steel grills for cooking and heat indicator. The price of the smoker grills range from fifty dollars to five thousand dollars that varies with the size and features. Vertical water smokers are well suited for beginners. Vertical water smokers have a fire pan, a water pan and a cooking rack that is ideal for beginners. In this method, as soon as the food gets cooked, the water adds moisture to it.
There is another set of smoker called the “offset smoker” in which there is a firebox, a cooking or smoking chamber and a chimney. Heat and smoke are produced through the firebox and pass through the cooking chamber and then on to the chimney. These smoker grills are intended for cooking large portions of meat and are used for commercial purposes.
Next to gas grills, electric smoker grills are more popular. These are double grill electric smokers that can be converted into electric grills. Since electric grills have no fire to kindle, they are comparatively easier to use and the temperature gauge and timer can be set up easily. Cleaning can also be done in a jiffy. There are custom electric grills, too that facilitate using wood chips to give the food an attractive smoke flavor.
A combination of smoker, barbeque and electric grill is the char broil that can work with gas and charcoal on the same grill. Another type of grill, called the wood smoker grill can take wood or charcoal as fuel and is ideal for large portions and is specifically good to cook briskets, pork, ribs, chickens, turkeys and so on to give the unique aroma.
Before cleaning the smoker grill, sufficient time should be given to allow it to completely cool down before removing the cooking grates. Water should never be poured on the hot grill grates, as it can damage and shorten the life of the grates. Also, the grills should not be left with dirt and food for a day or two, since the residues in the grill could become nasty. The burners should be air dried before putting all the parts together.
