Outdoor Grill: Is Gas Powered one is Advisable?
Outdoor grilling is a perfect way to spend time with family and friends and adds a classic touch and charm to the whole area. There are many outdoor grills that come with great styles and finishes. While some of the outdoor grills cook food directly from the flame, others use heat through oven which is an indirect method.
The fuels used for outdoor grills are also of many kinds like wood, charcoal, gas and artificial logs. Outdoor grills are generally made up of stainless steel or any other durable metal and have a designer hammered copper bowl and top, fine wire mesh spark screens, sliding doors that may be one or two in number, back covers that are made water proof, fire tools, porcelain coated cooking grids, ash catchers that help in cleaning the ash easily and chimneys with rain caps.
The food that is to be cooked is placed on the cooking grid over an appropriate fuel. The outdoor grill has a wide inner area which is useful for easy loading of the burning substances.
In an outdoor grill that uses charcoal as its fuel, the charcoal is filled in the grate along its entire length. Since the grill is smooth and adjustable, it can be moved up and down and is quite easy for removing and cleaning. When more coal is added to the outdoor grill, the intensity of the flame increases.
In a wood burning outdoor grill, there is an extra large glass viewing area and the doors are made of polished brass. The interior of the fireplace is made of durable material and some of the models may have black fire screens to protect against sparks.
In a gas outdoor grill, there are adjustable safety valve controls and are quite easy to work with. Gas outdoor grills have bodies and meshes made of steel, intended for safety purposes and durability. The other prominent features are the adjustable safety valve controls, stainless steel burners and metallic enamel finish on top lids and bottom bowls. These features enable the user to store the outdoor grill and transport from one place to another more easily.
In a gas outdoor grill, generally, the fuel used is liquid petroleum or natural gas. The food can be protected from flying insects through full dome spark screen.
We are a family that grills year round.

Sarah,
Glad you’re enjoying my blog! I have to say - yours is TOP SHELF!
(Guess it doesn’t hurt that we’re looking to purchase our first grill this summer too!)
See ya
Very informative! I’ve only used a charcol grill. I recently moved into a new condo and they require gas grills only. So I’m trying to learn as much as I can about them.
