Barbecue Grills: Why Gas Powered are the Best!
Barbecue is a staple food in American cooking and is almost a sure item in any kind of gathering, especially children’s parties. The barbecue grill is very popular and is available in two different varieties namely, those powered on gas and the other, on charcoal.
The most common barbecue grill is gas powered and has a smoker box and side burner that is convenient in heating sauces. To clean the barbecue grill easily, drip tray is provided. On the other hand, a charcoal barbecue grill has a tight fit lid and air vents to push the flames upwards. The charcoal barbecue grill has many advantages over gas grills.
Charcoal is least expensive and cooks hotter than gas grills. People authentically say that charcoal adds a good flavor to the meat rather than gas grill, due to the burning of the wood in the charcoal pit and is quite traditional. But, the downside is that charcoal barbecue grills require more work since they are quite messy and demand more attention lest the meat gets over burnt.
Another point is that charcoal barbecues grills lose heat over time and so; the flame has to be induced, regularly. But, in a gas barbecue grill, the flames stay uniform throughout, until it is turned off. Although majority of the people prefer gas barbecue grills, professional masters prefer charcoal grills of the unparallel taste they offer.
There are many accessories that come along with a barbecue grill and some of them are spatula, tongs, forks, basket and a handle, thermometer, a skewer set, oven gloves, and basting brush. Spatula is used in turning over thin and soft meat, tongs are used to pick up or turn over meat, basket and handle to prevent food from falling into the gaps of the grill, and a thermometer to cook thick meat and the skewer set to cook kebabs. All these accessories are essential to complete a barbecue party.
Safety measures should be adopted while using barbecue grills. Children and pets should be kept away from the grill. Prior to cleaning, it should be ensured that the charcoal is cold. The barbecue grill should not be lighted in a confined place or inside the house. The barbecue grill should always be placed on top of a stable and flat surface.
I agree gas grills are the way to go, especially if you don’t feel like sitting around all night trying to cook something.
